Management Team
Arcadia’s operations are directed by a team of owner-managers with extensive experience and proven performance in the development of mixed-use communities. Arcadia’s principals believe that the entrepreneurial nature of the business calls for a flexible, fast-moving and highly innovative organization. Accordingly, Arcadia maintains a small staff and relies heavily on importing talented third-party consultants into the development process. A biographical summary of Arcadia’s development team follows.

John Hodge
John is responsible for acquisitions, finance, strategic planning and administration. Prior to co-founding Arcadia, Mr. Hodge was employed in the Acquisitions and Investments Group of Wagner and Brown, where he was involved in the acquisition efforts of several Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Hodge also was responsible for Wagner and Brown’s $200 million portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Prior to this, Mr. Hodge was a manager and consultant at KPMG specializing in real estate, financial institutions, and oil and gas. Mr. Hodge is a CPA, and holds an MBA and BBA from the University of Texas, where he received several academic awards. He also holds an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Bill Gietema
Bill is co-founder of Arcadia and is responsible for the company’s entitlements, land planning and development operations. Mr. Gietema “grew-up” in the real estate business and has been involved in numerous residential and commercial projects as an employee in his father’s California-based development firm. Mr. Gietema is highly regarded in the industry as an expert in land planning, zoning and market research. Mr. Gietema received a BA from UCLA, where he was a Summa Cum Laude graduate and recipient of numerous academic awards, including Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Gietema also earned an MS in real estate development from MIT, and studied at the prestigious London School of Economics. Mr. Gietema was awarded the 2002 Knight Fellowship from the University of Miami School of Architecture, and serves on the Residential Development Council of the Urban Land Institute. He is a frequent lecturer at the Seaside Institute, the Congress for New Urbanism, and the Urban Land Institute.

Kim Torbert
Kim is responsible for Arcadia’s accounting and administrative functions. Ms. Torbert has been with Arcadia since 1998 and is a highly experienced, hard-working and dedicated professional. Prior joining Arcadia, Ms. Torbert was a closer with Chicago Title. She also has extensive experience in the banking industry as an executive assistant in Commercial Lending at Equitable Bank.

Katherine Hodge Hamilton
Katherine is responsible for Arcadia’s project management, HOA relations, and is the director of marketing. Mrs. Hamilton has a special interest in new urbanism and has completed her Congress of New Urbanism Certification, as well as being a licensed real estate salesperson. Katherine is an avid photographer and artist and has travelled worldwide pursuing her interests including summiting Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, followed by a 300mile walking expedition across Kenya to the Indian Ocean. Katherine studied abroad at Mudra Institute of Communications in Ahmedabad, India and is an SMU graduate with a degree in advertising. In 2019, Katherine received her Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Real Estate and Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Southern Methodist University.
